Garden #DCTweetup 13

@WDCGardener has invited us to a #DCTweetup in her beautiful garden in Silver Spring. Enjoy being outdoors in the DC summer weather while munching on garden party food, sipping drinks & meeting great people! Instead of asking people what they do, ask them what they love! They'll answer - #DCTweetup!

WHERE: WDCGardener's Garden
WHEN: June 17, 2010 5-8pm
ADDRESS: 826 Philadephia Ave NW (entrance to garden is across from Public Storage at 7800 Fenton Ave Silver Spring)
METRO: Silver Spring or Takoma Park metro (Red line)
WHAT: Garden party - #DCTweetup-style
WHY: meet some great people, eat & drink great stuff & enjoy an evening in a garden
BRING: Bottle of wine or homemade food
RAIN PLAN: If it rains (God forbid), we'll meet at Jackie's Sidebar

CHARITY: Kathy will be taking donations (cash or seedings) to help Plant a Row (PAR) for the Hungry. She will be setting up one planting bed about 8x4 ft that is set aside for the hungry and the donations go toward the cost of plants, soil, fertilizer, etc. At the end of the season, she will tally the # of pounds of food grown from the bed and donated to local food banks and soup kitchens and report it for PARs totals.

What is #DCTweetup?
#DCTweetup is a ‘non’-networking event for locals to put a face to a Twitter handle. It’s a relaxing evening of networking with your neighbors, local business owners and meeting new friends. This is not your typical ’state what you do & hand over your business card’ event. #DCTweetup is for the introverted & extroverted alike to share in great conversation, relationship-building and fun.
